Lu Tiner: sub woofers will only push bass, you would need full range speakers as well as subs. I suggest a deck with a built in amp if your budget is limited.

Alexis Reyer: Most decks will have a built-in amp for speakers (that's the "45x4" thing they put on the packaging) and you can get an ok one for $100ish). For just a little extra bump get decent speakers and have them powered by the deck, then get a small 10' or 12' sub (in a sealed box if space is limited-sealed boxes are smaller) and an amp with a power output similar to the sub's power handling capacity. If you get a bigger amp ! you can just turn it down so it's not a big deal. What I've done in the past is buy a mid-level quality sub new $150-200), and a box at a discount place ($100ish) and then buy a good quality amp used (My current pick would be Rockford Fosgate Punch 800 $200) but ask around for what you think best, there are many good brands. Save a couple bucks for good power wire as it can make a huge difference because it's power that the amp needs to do it's job. Then you hook up the amp to the rear rca out (or sub out) from your deck. I realize that I've suggested $600 here but that is ballpark and what I've suggested is flexible for what you decide. A good way to shave dollars is to find what car audio places have discontinued because they sell it a LOT cheaper and commission guys get paid to clear it out, so ask....Show more
Rachell Meese: You could get a line-out converter that converts your stock speakers to RCA's then get an amp/sub combo. Kicker has one, its an 8" sub with a! built in amp. It won't rattle your trunk but it'll put out en! ough sound to make you happy if you listen to metal and rock.
