Do all-electric cars cost a much less in maintenance?

Valentine Willinger: Breath.....are you saying that electric motors do not require lubrication?

Rona Espalin: @Breath on the wind - ty

Arlen Hamper: No. They actually cost more because the battery they use is very expensive and charging costs are too high

Joie Kemmis: Wheels and body work will mostly be the same with an internal combustion engine (ICE) car and an electric car. The electric car doesn't have a transmission so there are no fluids to change there. Many don't have a liquid cooling system so there are no issues there. There is no liquid fuel line or pumps to break down. There are no air filters to change on the engine. The ICE should have an oil change 4 times a year, but there are none for the EV. There is no exhaust system on the EV to rot away and present costly repairs. In general the EV is a far less mechanically complex vehicle. There is much less to break down or maintain. and we can expect maintenance costs to be less....Show m! ore

Travis Sherrock: Yeah electric cars don't require you to buy them fuel or any of that stuff every 30 days or so,nor to be buying them spare new parts, but for electric cars they might require you to buy them new tires or so very often if you drive them like an entire week!!!!

Booker Moros: may not be
