Frank Crummell: Soap Nuts Bulk
Shane Getler: Soap nuts work really well. I use them for all my laundry. Pros: - they are environmentally friendly - there's no harsh chemicals - they are a natural fabric softener (the hotter the water you use the more they will soften)- they work in all kinds of washing machines-they are really economical/affordableCons - -there seems to be a lot of people selling these without much knowledge about them and a lot of them give bad advice. I learned this the hard way. - they work better on warmer water settings (only a con if you prefer to wash on cold - for me its not a problem). -some companies package overseas with not much care and you wind up with hair, twigs, or bird poop. (this can be solved by buying from a reputable company that packages in the US). I like Eco Nuts http://econutssoap.com- if you have hard water the nuts might not w! ork as well for you. You may need a water softener to have them work best.- The nuts don't work as well in some new HE machines. for my neighbor they work fine in hers, but when I got a new machine I noticed they didn't work as well. I use a liquid soap from Eco Nuts now that's basically liquid soap nuts. Here is a great video that demonstrates how they work and release soap when they are in your washing machine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RISFuzC5dSY
Weldon Totaro: They only work if you use rain water and hand wash with them. I definitely would not use them on heavy duty jobs, either.
