need help with fitness schedule?

Dwight Siniard: I don't know what other people put in fitness logs, but I think a schedule and an overview of the exercises you did would be helpful. If you have goals like "I want to be able to do 20 pushups in a row", then you can keep track of that in your log. I think 45 minutes each day is a good starting point, and you should definitely take Wed and Sun off, so you don't tire yourself out. Also, if I were you, I'd do Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday with an intense, full-body strength workout...Monday and Friday just working on yoga and maybe working on stuff from dance class....Show more

Neville Dautremont: First, decide on your goals - why are you going to gym to begin with? Lose weight? Maintain weight? Build muscle? Improve endurance? You could further break this down - build muscle in a particular area, be able to run a 10K, etc. Then look for training plans for that specific goal. For example, if you want endurance, follow the "couch to 5K" running plan tha! t's on the web, and maybe register for a local 5K race to perform as you finish it. If, on the other hand, you're into bodybuilding, there are plenty of sites on that.In addition consult with the gym staff. Most places will have a professional on site who will give you general advice for free. Not personal coaching, just a list of exercises, reps, durations and weights that fit your current level of fitness and your goal.Good luck!...Show more
