Install it and turn on the TiVo2Go features on your TiVo box.I connect my TiVo Series 2 DT to my router/WAP with an ethernet cable.TiVo2Go runs on my laptop and is able to find the TiVo box via my laptop's wireless network. I can surf my TiVo box's content from my laptop and start transfers at my will. It is not real fast due to my WiFi (g type) running at 54MB.
