Darcie Peraha: Yes they do work for both. Most cameras/camcorders have a 1/4-20 thread (1/4" diameter, 20 threads per inch). Almost every tripod will come with a plate which has this type of screw.
Jacques Vaquera: One tripod should work for both. All tripods and most cameras and camcorders have the same kind of screw on the bottom or adapter that fit together.
Zora Mazzie: Works on other SLR camera's - I wonder if it works on digital camcorders !!?!?!
Jonelle Eligio: Usually video cameras have larger plates on them and are more sturdy. I used a regular cheap camera tripod for my video camera, and it broke because the video camera weighted too much for it. While a lot of the time many tripod heads can fit still cameras and video cameras, it's best to get the one you need.I don't exactly understand what you're saying when you say "I have a canon camera and it works with every camera" though. The camera (assuming its a still camera) should work on most! tripods, but you should try just using a still camera one....Show more
