Jill Thomer: when the aircraft is big enough, it would be hard for the pilot to move the control surfaces (like ailerons, rudder, elevator) so the main purpose of hydraulic is to help pilots move them. Not just control surfaces but the hydraulics move the flaps and spoiler and retract and extend the landing gears.it's just like a hydraulic jack...Show more
